Snow

Some views of Central Otago in the heavy fall of snow over the weekend.

Coolangatta

The weather is warm in Coolangatta. Eight days staying at Rainbow Bay. Will never get used to the sudden darkness, no twilight. Awake with the Rosellas flocking to the trees on the beachfront as dawn breaks (early)! Visiting family. Somehow the shops are not important to me on this trip. Nothing inspires. Lovely to spend time with family after years apart.

Now returning to the cooler weather in the first week of winter. On our trip home through Fairlie discovered The Old Library Cafe. The blue cod was so fresh it tasted of the freshly caught saltly blue cod on Stewart Island in my memory of forty years ago!

Just caught hearing the last four competitors of the 18 in the semi-finals of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in Queenstown. A treat as always, every two years.

Timeout

A time to smell the flowers is certainly true for me for April and May. A permanent holiday from my job of five months has certainly helped the stresses and strains to fade from my system. A sole charge position in Arrowtown in the company of Bears has been a wonderful tonic. See my favourite bears in the photos. The end of this month will see me in the Gold Coast, Oz, attending to family matters.

I'm a Grandma!

A huge welcome to James, born 23/1/07. We are "over the moon" Grandad and I! As for the proud parents Nat and Tom - well they will still be on cloud nine....Check out photos of New Grandson.

Perfume Passion

I have always loved perfumes and in my early years had a signature perfume only for some time. In recent years I have discovered many wonderful perfumes through the internet and become quite an addict I suppose, with bottles as well as perfume.
The photos in the Perfume Passion collection are mostly on my "want" list, certainly not the ones I own. I wish! Ormonde Jayne's Orris Noir is a real desire. I have a treasured little sample of this only. The photos of the perfume collector and at the perfume counter are so appealling I have included them here. I found the walnut perfume pendant on http://www.passionforperfume.com/ Unfortunately I was not able to trade a handwoven wrap for this beautiful piece!
